NFS Pro Street: Neuer Patch
Es gibt für Need for Speed Pro Street wieder einen neuen Patch, den sogenannten Patch 2. Leider ist nur bekannt, dass er Abstürzte beim Laden von Savegames verhindert. Weiteres ist nicht bekannt.

NFS Pro Street: Exklusives Material für die PSP

Wie die Playstation-Welten nun berichtet, gibt es für die PSP-Version, dessen Release am 21. Februar 2008 ist, exklusives Material. Dazu gehören die Modi Speed Mode, Driver Personas und Driver Intuition.

NFS Pro Street: Patch-Problem & und Coke-Zero-Golf

Wie nun bekannt wurde, bringt der Patch für Need for Speed: Pro Street teilweise mehr Probleme als Hilfe. Die Fehler sind meistens Abstürze beim Speichern. Es wird laut Eletronic Arts aktuell an einer Lösung gearbeitet, die sich aber noch ein wenig hinziehen kann.
Falls ihr aber trotzdem gerne einen Volkswagen Golf GTI im Coke-Zero Design gewinnen wollt, dann ist das nun eure Chance: Coke-Zero verlost aktuell zwei dieser Gölfe. Wir wünschen euch viel Erfolg.

NFS Pro Street: Game of the Year 2007 in einer negativen Kategorie
Need for Speed: Pro Street erhielt von Gamespot einen Game of the Year 2007 Award in der nicht wirklichen positiven Kategorie Dubious Honors – Most Despicable Use of In-Game Advertising, auf Deutsch etwa Zweifelhafte Ehren - schändlichster Gebrauch von In-Game-Werbung. Einer der großen Gründe der Gamespot Redaktion war Version mit XBox Live.

Meinung der Redaktion von Gamespot:
You might figure that a racing game would have a couple of advertisements in it; after all, auto racing as a sport has come to be associated with aggressive advertisers who slap their logos all over race cars, driver uniforms, TV broadcasts, and anywhere else they can possibly squeeze in some commercial messaging. But Need for Speed ProStreet is a street-racing game, and street racing isn't exactly the world's most popular, mainstream, televised sport.

Likewise, Need for Speed ProStreet isn't exactly an example of in-game advertising restraint. Playing the game offline isn't all that offensive, but as soon as you jump on to Xbox Live, the deluge begins. Aside from the fact that the game gives you the option to flat-out pay $25 in real money to unlock advanced cars (and get an unfair advantage over players who start from the bottom), and that it constantly pesters you with this "option" each time you go to buy an in-game car, the game has dynamic ads that start downloading the very first time you get online. What's worse and even more ridiculous is that the game's Xbox Live achievement points have ads attached to them. That's right, even the achievements in this game are brought to you by a commercial sponsor. This kind of obnoxious salesmanship really hurts the game experience and makes ProStreet a lock for this category.

NFS Pro Street: Patches

Heute erschien der Patch für Need for Speed: Pro Street (DVD-Version). Der Patch behebt einige wenige Probleme sowie fügt den LAN-Modus ein. Die Größe von fast 230 MB ist zwar viel, doch eine Empfehlung wert.

NFS Pro Street: Booster Pack

Es wird bald seitens EA einige neue Fahrmöglichkeiten für NFS: Pro Street geben. Im sogenannten Booster Pack, der noch Dezember zum kostenfreien Download erscheinen soll, soll es zwei neue Tracks und 16 neue Cars geben. Diese Strecken und Autos werden in dem dazugehörigem Trailer vorgestellt. Die beiden neuen Tracks sind:

  • Porsche Teststrecke Leipzig (Deutschland)
  • Tokyo Speedway (Japan)

Unter den Cars befindet sich auch zum Beispiel der neue Bugatti Veyron 16.4, drei weitere Porsches und viele Autos mehr. Alle Informationen findet ihr im Trailer zum Booster Pack.
